Friday again? | Two More Days

It seems to me that the week after a holiday week usually passes so slowly, but that doesn’t seem to be the case for me this year. It seems to me that the months since Isaac was born have passed twice as quickly as the ones before it. (Maybe that’s just because the months when I was pregnant couldn’t pass fast enough.)

This Friday also brings the end of November with it, which means the start of December and with it the beginning of Advent, that time of hopeful expectation. I love the reminder to live with joy and to live with hope. I know that some of you may be planning on making a December album inspired by Ali Edward’s December Daily.

Of course, when I heard of December Daily, my first thought was to try something like my 30 Days of Creative Prayer again. But the very problem I ran into with my 30 days is that it’s very ambitious to try and scrapbook a whole page of prayer. Which is where Becky Higgin’s Project Life came into the picture for me. To be honest, I’ve never been much interested in Project Life mostly because Scrapbooking is mainly a creative outlet for me. It’s a way I get to tell our stories, but I’m not concerned with missing memories. I have no desire for my scrapbooks to be an account of everything we’ve ever done.

But while I was pondering doing a daily December prayer page, an inspiration hit me. While I don’t necessarily feel I need to document every week of our lives, I do want to pray everyday and for me prayer journaling and prayer cards have always been a big part of my prayer life.

So, for the month of December, I am going to make an Advent prayer album. I got a bit of an early start, so I could show you what I’m talking about.

If you want to join me on this journey, or are just working on a December album, I thought I’d share the templatesI came up with for my album. They are four layered 6×8 templates, available in .PSD or .TIFF formats.

Whether you decide to join me in prayer journaling Advent or use these for your December Daily album, I hope you enjoy them. I’d love to see what you do with them.
